Best Interests, course #229, is the newest course from Affordable Educators and ONLY one hour! The course is geared towards agents who hold a life license and sell annuity products. When you recommend an annuity or similar product, it should be suitable for your client’s situation. Best interests training, however, goes beyond to require that the advice be in the best interests of the client. Learn what you must do to meet new NAIC training requirements with our course, #229 Best Interests.
The NAIC or National Association of Insurance Commissioners creates sample insurance laws, called model acts, in hopes that states adopt them as real laws. Once such act is called Model #275, or The Best Interests Act. Although, California has not adopted the NAIC’s Model at this time, your carrier or insurer may still require this 2023 insurance training course.
The main difference between Best Interests and Suitability is that when you recommend an annuity or a similar product, it should be suitable for your client’s situation.. Best Interests training, however, requires that the advice be in the best interests of the client. Best Interests training works best in conjunction with either of our four hour annuity courses or our eight hour annuity training.
