TO RENEWING YOUR CALIFORNIA INSURANCE LICENSE

Complete your continuing education hours!

Complete and pass your continuing education courses

to the Department of Insurance within 48 hours

STEP 4
Pay your renewal fees
If you are within 90 days of your license renewal, head over to Sircon to complete your California Insurance license renewal. Once on Sircon’s website, you will choose the “Renew or Reinstate your license” tab and follow the prompts.

Print your California insurance license here
to avoid the $5 Sircon surcharge
Some agents like to have a printed copy of their updated license, but it is not necessary!

How much is my California insurance license renewal?
As of April 2023, the license renewal fee for CA is $188.
How many hours of insurance CE do I need?
Generally, every insurance agent needs 24 hours of continuing education with at least three of those hours being ethics training.

What happens if I complete my hours or pay my renewal fees late?
If you are late with your CE or your renewal fees, the DOI will charge you a 50% penalty in addition to your license renewal fee.
How do I update my personal information (name, address, email etc) with Sircon/DOI?
To update your personal information with Sircon (cannot be done through the Department of Insurance) you will head over to www.sircon.com and click the “View a List of All Services” tab. From there, locate the change individual name, address, or email link and follow the prompts.
